Living room!

We had a great find this weekend!! I love old things (and no I'm not talking about Billy..buwahaha) anyway this weekend my mom stumbled across these old ceiling tiles that a man was selling. He said that they came out of a old building in Birmingham, why I didn't ask which building I'll never know. Anyway..when Billy & I saw them..we knew it was what we were looking for to go over the loveseat in our living room.

(still have some work to do on the fireplace..but Billy really did a great job on it)

Another old thing I'm loving is this cupboard door my mom & I found in a antique store in Bluff Park a few months ago. I put these 7x10 pictures in it and love it.

and last but not least...my photo wall. I've been dying to get this up since we moved. Billy built the shelves for me and we got it put up Saturday morning. This is the stairs landing. I really love it.

Finally..a update and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

We moved in October 20th..yay!! We love the house. LOVE it.

But I didn't get high speed internet until this past Saturday. Satellite internet is the only way to have high speed. I ordered it before Thanksgiving and it came in Christmas Eve.

Anyway..onto the house pics..I took these before Thanksgiving. Here's a pic of the completed stairs.

Billy is finishing up the fireplace in the living room now (he built the mantle) so when he's done with that I'll post pics of the living room. When he's done with some kind of organization for the playroom & photography room I'm post those pictures too.

We passed...everything!

We passed the plumbing inspection Tuesday.

Electrical inspection on Thursday.

Final inspection..well..almost today. We did get the green light to go ahead and move in and contact AL power to get our meter for power.

We do, however, have to insulate the ceiling in the basement but we'll get that completed this weekend. We'll get our final "Certificate of Occupancy" or CO next week.

We also had our appraisal today. I hope it went well..I don't know.

Anyway...we're moving this weekend!!!!

We failed...

Our electrical inspection that is :( We've fixed what needed to be fixed and we're scheduled for another one this week. PRAY that we pass this one.

The plumbing inspection is hopefully today..

If we pass both of those it goes on to the final inspection. If we pass that one we'll get the certificate of occupancy and guess what? WE GET TO MOVE IN.

The house that never ends will finally get moved into! Hopefully.

Anyway..enough of my babbling..onto the pictures. Which for some reason these days I can't seem to hold my camera straight.

For the first time since the garage was completed..we pulled both cars into the garage. and they fit. We can even open the door a little :)

I took some pics of the front of the COMPLETED outside of the house. Well..the front is completed anyway. I think the back needs a coat of paint.

and..for the first time ever I stained floors. I am so glad the rest of the hardwoods were prefinished because sanding & staining sucks.

Now..I'm headed to the house to finish up staining the bottom half of the steps.
